Riverside Gymnastics is dedicated to creating a safe environment for kids to learn the sport of gymnastics. We recognize that this sport is not without its risks, and as such we have implemented several policies as listed below. If you would like more information on what we require and how we operate, please contact us.
We communicate primarily via email. Gym closures, class time changes, special events and more will all be sent to your email(s) on file. Please note, we do not send spam or irrelevant promotional emails, so any email you receive from us will have importance to you. Please check your email at least every week before your child’s class. Make sure to check and update your contact information in your parent portal as needed.
You will receive text messages and phone calls on occasion, but please be aware that you will miss a lot of important information if you do not check your email.
Please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes prior so your gymnast has time to check in and put away their belongings. On those occasions where you are running late, please have your child come into the office so a staff member can walk them out to their class, rather than have them walk out alone. When you arrive for your child’s class, please make sure to check them in at the front table. Just find your child’s name in the check-in book and make a mark or initial next to their name. If you need help checking in or finding your child’s class, please feel free to come in the office. Gymnasts who don’t get checked in are marked as absent.
Cubbies are located right inside the main gym or outside Gym B. Cubbies can be used to store jackets, shoes, socks, water bottles and other personal items during class.
After putting away their belongings, students will wait behind the barriers until their coach invites them to the floor.
After class, all students will be brought back to either be picked up in the seating area, or out the east door (right out to the east parking lot). Please be prompt in picking up your child, or contact the office if you are running behind.
Riverside Gymnastics has several requirements for apparel. Please note, your child will not be able to participate in class if they are not wearing the proper attire.
Girl Gymnasts: A leotard is required for all ages and levels of gymnastic students. Sport shorts, leggings, or warm-up pants and/or a shirt/tank-top can be worn over the leotard. (New and gently used leotards are for sale at the gym.)
Boy Gymnasts: T-shirts, shorts (no jean material), or warm-up pants.
All Students: Long hair must be pulled back and secured.
No belts, snaps, buckles, zippers, or rivets. The only jewelry allowed is ear studs.
We have loaner leotards and shorts in the office as well as hair ties.
Students will not be allowed onto the floor until they are invited by their coach. Students should only pass through the designated entrance, not under the barriers.
Only staff members and students currently in a class are allowed on the floor. Students cannot be on the floor unsupervised. We want to emphasize, parents are NOT allowed on the gym floor. This is for numerous safety and liability reasons. If you need to take your child off the floor, please grab the attention of a staff member, or come into the office.
While walking to their class and between events, students will be directed to walk on the green lines on the gym floor. For gymnast and staff safety, cutting across equipment and mats is NOT allowed.
Our preschool classes take place in our smaller Gym B, but preschool parents please be aware of these policies as your child may be taken out to the main gym on occasion. Students are not allowed in Gym B unsupervised.
For the safety of our gymnasts, two staff members or adults are required to be present around students.
In order to drop your child from a class, you will need to contact the office. You can do this either by phone, email, or in person. Lack of attendance does not equate to dropping from a class, and you will still be charged until notice of drop. Please ensure you receive confirmation of your child dropping.
Please understand we require 30 days’ notice to drop your child from classes. In the case of having to take your child out of class sooner, we cannot guarantee you won’t be charged for the next month. We understand that circumstances don’t always allow for advance notice, but please make sure to give notice when you can.
Students will be automatically dropped at the end of the school year session and summer session. Please contact the office for more information on class turnover.
Tuition statements are sent electronically on the 1st of each month, a current email address is required to be on file with the office. A credit card must be on file for all accounts. Please contact the office if this poses a problem to work out a financial agreement. Payment can be made by
1. Automatic credit card payment with card on file on the 1st, 10th or 15th of each month
2. Cash or check delivered to the office or mailed to 2221 River Road The Dalles, OR 97058. Checks payable to RGSA.
3. Partial or full payment by a credit card not on file. Payment can be managed and done manually through the parent portal.
Tuition is due on the 15th of each month, a late fee of $10 will be assessed per family if payment not received by the 15th of that month. A $10 fee will be assessed for all bounced or rejected checks or credit cards. Any tuition payments not received by the 15th of each month will be automatically charged to credit card on file unless you have contacted the office to set up a financial agreement for that tuition. You will be responsible for tuition up to the date of dropping. As per our unenrollment policies, you must give 30 days notice for dropping a class.
Riverside staff work hard to ensure student safety. All reasonable care will be taken to prevent accidents; however, there are risks involved with the sport of gymnastics. In the event of an injury, a parent or guardian will be notified, as listed on the registration form. So please keep your contact information current and notify us as changes occur. All families will be required to sign waivers before participating in gymnastics, including a Liability Release, Medical Emergency permission waiver, and an Assumption of Risk.
All registered families are required to sign a photo release waiver. This grants Riverside Gymnastics the right to use photographs of your gymnast for promotional materials in line with Riverside’s mission.
Riverside Gymnastics staff will never keep gymnast photos for personal use.
